Mehbooba presides party legislators meet | Condoles death of Sarafraz Khan | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 16 Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti Sunday presided over meeting of party MLAs, district presidents and zonal presidents which discussed in threadbare the current political situation in the state. In a statement a spokesman of the party said, “The meeting focused on the rampant corruption in the state under National Conference rule, mis-governance, human rights abuse and the persecution of youth and their targeting by the government. Everyone in the meeting raised concerns affecting the people of the state.” He said several developmental projects were either ignored or work on them was going on snail’s pace. “The projects which were supposed to be completed in a stipulated time frame. Human rights right violations are increasing day by day and the government is shunning away from its responsibilities. Issue of mass graves and disappearances are as same as it was. No progress in accountability is so far seen, corruption and miss governance has totally fractured the administration and common man is suffering daily,” he alleged. The meeting also condoled the death of former minister Mohammad Sarafraz Khan. Mehbooba recounted late Khan’s services to the society and PDP. Fateha was offered for the departed soul and the meeting extended solidarity with bereaved family. She left for Jammu immediately after attending the meet. Senior party leader and deputy leader in the Assembly Abdul Rehman Veeri also condoled the death of Khan. He recalled his close association with the departed leader and prayed for his peace. Among other leaders who offered their solidarity included General Secretary Mohammad Dilawar Mir, senior leaders Muzaffar Hussain Beig, Mohammad Sartaj Madni, Mohammad Khalil Bandh and Syed Bashir Ahmed.
