Catapult economy with scientific advancement: Azad

Equal opportunity of education to all irrespective of creed, colour, caste, religion and region is of paramount importance in seeking allround socio-economic development and creation of peaceful and conducive society, said Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad here on Wednesday. He was speaking at an annual function of Kargil students receiving education in Jammu.
Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali was, Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA Zanskar Mr. Ghulam Raza, prominent citizens, intellectuals, great number of students, parents were present.
Chief Minister said he has vowed to seek development and progress of backward and far-flung areas like Kargil and Leh alongside other parts of the state. “Our focus of attention is on catapulting development of hitherto left under developed areas. We have put in place wide ranging plans to address the grievances and problems of people living in far-flung and backward areas of the state”, he said.
Mr. Azad said that chain of development schemes launched in various sectors especially in education and technology fields to bring under its ambit all rural and far-off areas are yielding fruitful results and students are taking best advantage of facilities being provided by the government. “It is far this fact our boys and girls from Leh, Kargil and other places are on frontline in seeking high pursuits of education and technology”.
Chief Minister said the government’s firm commitment for equitable development of all areas is evident by the enactment of legislation providing for constitution of finance commission to address to the requirements of backward and far-off areas and earmark their share in the resources and development. He said this will not only help to promote education but give fillip to all economic activities in these areas.
Mr. Azad said that he feels satisfied and heartened to see the students from Leh and Kargil receiving education enthusiastically and with full commitment alongwith boys and girls of Jammu and Srinagar. “This is the indication of brighter future of Leh and Kargil”, he added.
Chief Minister said that he is endeavoring hard to realize his dream of prosperous Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and every step is a foot to march ahead with determination and courage to achieve the cherished goal. “In this pursuit redoubled efforts are required to bring backward areas at par with other parts of the state where development has had its greater impact as compared to backward areas. In this stupendous task every one has to put in his contribution and work hand in hand with each other”, he said.
