| Inter-college handball tourney today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 16: Organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, annual inter-college (men and women) handball tournament shall start tomorrow on the campus, here.
As per the fixture, four matches in men’s section and three in women’s category have been scheduled for the opening day.
In all, 17 affiliated colleges of the JU have confirmed their entries in men while there are 11 teams competing in the women section.
Last year, the men’s title was clinched by Government MAM College beating Government SPMR College of Commerce in the final. Whereas in women’s section, GGM Science College is the winner and Dental College Sehora is runners-up.
Considering their last year’s performance, all the four finalists in both the categories have been given bye in the first round.
