| NSF demands removal of Central University OSD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 16:National Secular Forum (NSF) has demanded removal of Officer on Special Duty (OSD, Administration) to the Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu (CUJ) following corruption cases pending against him in Jammu University (JU) where he was serving prior to his deputation.
Addressing a press conference, the NSF State President Vikas Sharma said the Vice Chancellor, Dr S S Bloeria, who is himself an honest and upright person, should sack an official against whom corruption cases are pending.
“The OSD to Vice Chancellor CUJ, P S Pathania, who is not only incompetent but also corrupt official, is misusing his position. The Vice Chancellor should take serious notice of it and immediately remove him till corruption charges are pending against him,” he said.
Sharma also questioned the “criminal silence” of those social and political organizations which fought for local Vice Chancellor of CUJ.
“We fail to understand the silence of the organizations which fought for local person as the first Vice Chancellor of the university. Jammu had got this prestigious institution after long struggle and no corrupt official should be allowed to ruin this institution,” he said.
He further said Pathania had been involved in decision making process and there is every possibility that he may resort to corrupt practices.
“We appeal the President of India, who is the visiting Chancellor of Central University, and the Vice Chancellor to remove Pathania from his post till corruption charges are pending against him,” the NSF leader said.
He also appealed all the organizations which had participated in local V-C movement to raise the issue vigorously so that this prestigious institution doesn’t get any dent to its sanctity.
