| Young generation not aware of sacrifices made by freedom fighters: Gupta | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu west MLA Chaman Lal Gupta today unveiled the statue of Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh at shopping complex, Bakshi Nagar. Hundreds of people were present to pay tributes to the young martyr. This is the first statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in Jammu District. The statue was built out of the constituency development fund of MLA Chaman Lal Gupta. A cost of Rs. 4.10 lacs occurred on the whole project.
Addressing the gathering, Chaman Lal Gupta congratulated the residents of Bakshi Nagar on the occasion and paid floral tributes to the young martyr, Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh. He said that he feels really proud by unveiling the statue of the martyr since we have got our independence because of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagat Singh. It is due to their sufferings and hardships that we are enjoying the fruits of freedom.
He said that it is very unfortunate that our younger generation is not much aware of sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. He said that a large number of people joined the freedom struggle from our staid also out unfortunately them are not given their due credit. He said that he is committed to bringing these freedom fighters to public knowledge so that our Younger generations know the sufferings our freedom fighters have gone through. That will be our real tribute to the freedom fighters.
Chaman Lal Gupta assured full support and cooperation to the people of area.
He thanked the people of the constituency for their love and affection. He assured that in he will be serving with his full strength in the future too and anybody having a concern of the masses can meet him any time.
