| Lawrence Public School holds prize distribution function | | |
JAMMU, Dec 21
Annual prize distribution function was held at Lawrence Public School, Sidrah for the session 2005-06 in the school premises. Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development Sh. Jugal Kishore Sharma was the Chief Guest. Mr. Farooq Renzu (Director Information), Justice (Retd) S.K Gupta, Mr. Aslam Qureshi (Ex V.C. JDA), Mr. S.P. Verma a gandhian activist, Mrs. Jugal Sharma, Mrs. S.K. Gupta, Principal of various institutions, prominent citizens, parents and children witnessed the programme.
Awards were given to the meritorious children who excelled in academics and extra curricular activities. The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp, followed by Sarasvati Vandhna, Sarv Dharam prathana, Rajasthani Dance, Yoga, Patriotic song, classical song, Kashmiri Dance and Dandia by the little ones. Mr. Farooq Renzu (Director Information) appreciated the role of the school in molding and providing a secular platform to the children, teaching good moral and ethical values to the students, Prof. M.R. Puri, Prof. J.R.Rathore spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the management to provide a quality school in the Rural area. They also highlighted that this initiative by the management of Lawrence Public School of providing quality education to the Rural children speaks of the dedication towards the society by the management and staff.
The Principal, Mrs. S.Joshi apprised the gathering that one block of the building has been specially built for an orphanage. Later Sh. Jugal Kishore Sharma (Minister, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj) conveyed his best wishes to the students, Staff and the Management for the forth coming New Year and was confident that Lawrence Public School, Sidrah would emerge as one of the best institutions under the guidance of its able management in the area. In the end lunch was served to the meritorious children, their parents and to all guests.
The Principal of the school announced on behalf of the school management, The Lift Time Achievement Awards to prof. M.R. Puri (Ex V.C Jammu University), Prof. J.R Rathore (Ex.Chairman JKBOSE) and Sh. I.D Soni (State Commissioner Bharat Scouts J&K) for their dedication and exemplary work. Mrs. Usha Arora (Teacher) was also awarded LifeTime Achievement Award. Master Aamir Bali and Master Saif Ali were given Silver and Bronze medal for their outstanding performance in Distt. Level Taekwondo competition. |
