Delhi police refuses to take JK police help | Ambala explosive catch case | | SUMIT SHARMA Jammu, Oct 16: In what can be construed as ignominy or a label of inefficiency of the police of terror torn J&K state, Delhi police has refused to take the assistance of JKP in probing the case of RDX explosive seized from a car outside the Ambala Cantonment Railway station a few days back. Sources said that a police team was dispatched to Delhi to offer help in probing the explosive catch incident but the same was refused by Delhi police. The police team was dispatched on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldip Khoda after Union Home department sought explanation that how a vehicle carrying RDX managed to escape from the state after splashing mud in the eyes of JKP. Sources said that soon after receiving the explanation letter, DGP sought explanation from IGP Jammu who in turned held a meeting with the senior police officers where a decision to provide help to Delhi police was mooted. Sources said that police is also busy in drafting the explanation sought by Centre Home department. Meanwhile in the latest development of explosive catch, Delhi police had lodged FIR in this connection. Though the catch was made on October 12, Delhi police lodged a case on 11 October. When Early Times contacted the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ambala, he informed that Delhi police is probing the case as the case was registered with them a day prior to the catch of explosives. Pertinent to mention here that the information was passed on to Haryana Police by Delhi police that explosives were to exchange in Ambala and on the basis of inputs Haryana Police and Delhi tracked down the car ,carrying explosives, from Ambala railway station. During investigation it was come to limelight that the vehicle passed the Lakhanpur toll barrier along Jammu-Pathankot barrier a day after the catch was made. Later it came to be known that the explosives were provided by the Lashkar-e-Toiba module in J&K and were meant to be given to the terror organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) for a covert operation in Delhi ahead of Diwali. The police seized the car after receiving a tip-off and later found detonators, timer devices and 5 kg of RDX. The number of the car which was earlier found to be HR 03R 0054 was proved fake. The CCTV images from the toll plaza revealed that there were two or three people who drove the car into Ambala. They had entered the state crossing the Shambhu Barrier and Ladowal toll gates. Sources in the police also added, the vehicle registered under this number is actually an Indica that was owned by one Om Prakash Jain who purchased it in 2006 and is said to have subsequently sold it to someone in Fazilka. The further investigation was in progress, sources said.
