No decision on AFSPA revocation: GOC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 17: Army on Monday said that there has been no decision on revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Jammu and Kashmir yet. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Islamic University of Sciences and Technology Awantipora General Officer Commanding 15-Corps, Lt Gen Atta Hasnain said, “There has been no decision on revocation of AFSPA yet. Earlier in an interactive session on “Employment Generation Prospects” conducted by Victor Force under the aegis of Chinar Corps in coordination with IUST students were guided and motivated about various golden opportunities which are available to them in the country by panelists which included Maj Gen PK Saighal (Retd), Mohammad Ayub Shah, Zubin Malhotra and Aprna S. Lt Gen SA Husain, GOC, Chinar Corps, exhorted the boys and girls to avail the opportunity to shape their future and that of Jammu and Kashmir. Maj Gen Gurdeep Singh, GOC, Victor force, thanked Dr. Abdul Rasheed Trag, Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science and Technology for facilitating the conduct of the Seminar which is a step towards harmonizing relations with the youth. “More than 1000 students participated in the seminar and acknowledged the efforts of the Army for providing them this magnificent platform,” a defence communiqué said.
