Lehar, Kishtwari, Malhotra honoured

Jammu, Oct 17: In its weekly literary meeting chaired by its president Amin Banihali, Anjuman Farogh-e-Urdu Jammu & Kashmir Jammu felicitated Anand Lehr Urdu writer for having been honoured by Sant Cheena Adbi Tanzeem Deoband(U.P) for the Hindi version of his novel “ Mujh se Kaha Hota”.
He had been bestowed with the title Sahatya Rattan Award consisting of a “spasnama”, a shawl, a memento and cash. The organizers had appreciated the message of peace and brotherhood in Annad’s writings at whose credit there are 11 books.
Anand had won many awards from various organizations within and outside the state. Anjuman wished that Anand continues to serve the cause of Urdu as well and adds to the Urdu literature.
Anjuman also congratulated another Urdu, English and Kashmiri writer Aseer Kishtwari whose audio CD consisting of Hamads and Naats titled “Noorana”had been released in a function at Srinagar organized by Adbi Markaz Kamraz and Commercial Broadcasting Service Radio Kashmir presided over by Mohammad Yousuf Taing and Finance Minister A.R.Rather was the chief guest. These compilations of Aseer Kishtwari had been recorded in the voice of Deepali Watal a known singer of the valley.
Anjuman made a mention of various voluminous books authored by Aseer on various subjects that had been well appreciated by the literary persons.
Anjuman also felicitated Amrit Malhotra MLC on his appointment as acting chairman of the Legislative Council.
He is an Urdu lover and Anjuman expected that he would do his best as he could to propagate Urdu language in the State.
The death of ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh was condoled by the Anjuman. Amin Banihali talked at length about the contributions of the unique ghazal singer whose achievements in making ghazal the darling of every one irrespective of the fact whether one knew Urdu language or not cannot be ignored. Not only in India but in many countries of the world he had maintained his undeniable position.
Amin Banihali, Maharaj Krishan, Malik Abdul Latief, Amin Sabunia, Rahat Hussain Rahat and Khurshid Kazmi presented their poetic compositions.
