| VC assures preservation of Music & Fine Arts building | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 17 Shri Ram Sena state president Rajiv Mahajan called on Jammu University Vice Chancellor Varun Sahni in his office chamber today and apprised him about the dilapidated condition of building housing Institute of Music & Fine Arts, Poonch House Talab Tillo.
Mahajan apprised the Vice Chancellor that the building of Institute of Music & Fine Arts is in shambles and there is every apprehension of untoward incident involving the life of students and teaching staff. Mahajan further said that the building is a cultural heritage and its preservation is must.
Vice Chancellor gave patient hearing to Rajiv Mahajan and assured that all out efforts will be done to preserve the building and he would take the matter with concerned archieves department.
Vice Chancellor further informed that he has already applied for permission to construct a new block for the Institute.
He said that as and when he will get the permission, he will try for release of funds on priority basis and hope in the next budget it will be materialized and a modern building will be handed over to Institute.
Mahajan said the meeting with VC was very cordial and he assured all possible help in the matter.
