Srinagar October 17: PDP Youth General Secretatry Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo has expressed concern over the lack of basic facilities on the forthcoming eve of the Urs of Shiekh Noor-ud-din Wali at Charari-e- Sharief.
In a press statement issued here Nazir Ahmad said thousands of devotees from all across the valley turn up to the Sheikh’s shrine to pay their homage and seek blessings, but due to negligence in the basic facilities of water, proper traffic management and frequent power cut offs has create disappointment among the followers.
Nazir emphasized that it is responsibility of the ruling government to check each requirement prior to the day when thousands follower across the valley turn up to the shrine.
It seems as if the ruling government is in slumber and do not pay any heed to the genuine concerns of the locals in this regards. He said that a comprehensive traffic management plan must be made public as soon as possible which would be convenient for devotes to reach the saint’s shrine with ease. Also the power supply to the area should be made feasible all the time.

Shiekh Noor din was a great Sufi saint and his followers are not restricted to Muslims community only, but followers from Pandits and Sikhs also visit the Shrine to seek peace and tranquility. He said it should have been the priority of the government to have completed all the necessary arrangements before a week of the day of Urs so that no inconvenience should happen to those who visit the shrine with great sense of belonging and beliefs.
Nazir Ahmad also conducted a day long tour to different adjacent areas of the Charari –e-Sharief to interact with the people and to know about their grievances. While addressing a huge gathering at Tulsera he assured the locals that he will do every possible effort to highlight their basic demands.
He also visited Phutlipora, Dalwan, Pakharpora, Charipora and other local areas. He said the locals of these areas are facing huge problems due to complete lack of electricity. He emphasized that the government should address and must bring all the necessary concerns into their notice and should be responsible to the people in all matters.
