| Municipal employees call on JMC Commissioner | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 17:
The Municipal Employees Union today called on Jammu Municipal Commissioner Commissioner S C Sawhney under the Presidentship of Rohit George and submitted a charter of demands.
The employees demanded re-organization of JMC, increase in the strength of the staff despite the limits of the Corporation have been extended from 23 wards to 71 wards.
The JMC employees said that there is surplus work load over the employees as the strength of the staff is decreasing day by day due to continuous retirements instead of new appointments.
They also demanded conduct of a fresh DPC meeting besides filling up of the two posts of Section Officers which are lying vacant since long.
The repair of Municipal Flats/Quarters which have been allotted to the Municipal employees was also demanded..
Commissioner paid patient hearing and assured the union to solve all issues which are in his competence and convey the rest with the Government at the shortest to resolve them.
Those who were present were Koushal Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Mohd Shariff, Basanti Razdan, Gopal Krishan, Amarjeet Singh Rakesh Kumar, Sushil Singh, Ravinder Bhat and others.
