BJP suffers another jolt, three more quit party | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 17:State BJP suffered another jolt with three senior leaders resigning from the party. In a press conference held here today, state BJP leaders Murari Lal Balgotra (Convener OBC cell, member state working committee), Om Parkash Gupta (Member, State Working Committee) and Rajinder Gupta (Member, State Working Committee) resigned from the party. Addressing the media persons, Murari Lal Balgotra, accused the present state leadership of the party of ignoring the OBCs in the party. He said the OBCs which form 52% of the population have always been ignored by the present leadership. He said that it is very painful to leave a party, with whom we have spent more than 40 years of life. We have given not only blood but even souls for the betterment of party. We have worked day and night in the remote and hilly regions of the state. But it is very unfortunate that even veteran and senior leaders of the party are being ignored. The party has become the tool of a few leaders. He accused the present leadership of suppressing the voice of dissent. Those who have given their all for the party are being sidelined and only a few are promoted. He said that no major post is given to the OBC leadership. Looking at the treatment Chaman Lal Gupta who has always raised the voice of the people has been given, he feels that there is no hope for the true party workers. Similar sentiments were shown by the other senior leaders Om Parkash Gupta (Kaku) (member, state working committee) and Rajinder Gupta.
