| Taj for introducing Para Vet Scheme for livestock development | | | Jammu, Dec 21 With a view to explaining various aspects of livestock development through Para Vet scheme a presentation was made by J&K Trust Gram Vikas Yojana (NGO) at a meeting chaired by Minister for Consumer Affairs, Animals and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Taj-Mohi-ud-Din here today. Commissioner Secretary Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Mohammad Deen, Secretary Animal Husbandry Department Sheikh Nissar Ahmed, Director Animal Husbandry, Jammu, Dr. Suresh Gupta, Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir, Dr. S.P Sharma, Director, Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir Dr. B.R Bhagat and other seniors officers of the department were present at the presentation session. Mr. Taj asked the officers to study all aspects of the scheme and come up with the concrete finding about the programme and also work out how the scheme could be introduced in the state especially in backward districts like Doda and Kupwara so that upgradation of live stock could be given flip. He said the presentation made explains various areas of the scheme and throws light on its efficacy, however, expert opinion with regard to its introduction is pre-requisite he added. He appreciated the efforts of the NGO and urged for adoption of specialized breed of cattle and buffaloes in the state. Minister called for fair utilization of funds earmarked under various schemes, saying that the schemes implemented should have perceptible results a ground level. He also asked veterinarians to popularize high milk yielding cow and buffalo breeds so that milk production in the state registers significant increase. |
