Debate competition on co-operative movement held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 17:A debate competition on co-operative movement was organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu. Zain-ul-Abdeen Bandey from the Department of Political Science, University of Jammu, was adjudged as First in the Inter-Collegiate/Departmental Debating Competition. Sahil Mehta from Govt MAM College Jammu and Jagteshwar Singh from MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu bagged the second and third prize, respectively. The cash prizes amounting to Rs 1,000, Rs. 800 and Rs 600 respectively were presented to the winners by Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu. Polina Singh Kala from the Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Mitika Sambyal from Govt. Degree College, Samba, were awarded two Consolation prizes of Rs 300 each. The topic of the competition was in the Opinion of the House “Cooperative have failed to bring economic empowerment to the rural poor”. Prof PN Trisal, Dr Amrik Singh Sudan and Dr Anupama Vohra, were the members of jury for this competition. Dr. Vishvaraksha, Teacher Incharge of the event made participants well versed with the rules and regulation whereas S.S. Bhalla acted as the Time Keeper. Among others Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee, Prof Neeru Sharma, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, Vijay Atri, Dr Surinder Pal Sharma, Teacher Incharges from various Colleges, were also present on this occasion.
