| JE booked for securing employment on fake ST certificate | | |

The state crime branch today booked a Junior Engineer for securing employment on fake Scheduled Tribe Certificate. The fake certificate issued by then Tehsildar Ganderbal has also been named in the case.
Sources in Crime Branch informed that the accused Shazad Salaria resident of Ahmed Nagar Pandachan Ganderbal has fraudulently managed the ST certificate in Connivance with the then Tehsildar Ganderbal Ghulam Ahmed Mala. The crime branch took up the investigation after Gujjar Desh Trust reported the matter to the police way back in 1998. However the investigating officer appointed at that time took a lenient view of the matter which delayed the investigation for nine about years.
Only recently the new investigating officer DySP Tahira Parveen Manhas however started the investigation afresh and unearthed the fraud played by Shazad for securing employment on fake ST certificates.
It was revealed during the investigation, that the accused has a Permanent Resident Certificate from Jammu showing his residence at Mohalla Dalpatian in old city, while the ST certificate has been issued from Tehsil Office Ganderbal, sources added. |
