60% Pahari funds not reaching beneficiaries: Gupta Pahari leader demanded white paper on funds

Rajouri, Oct 18:Demanding white paper on the funds released for Pahari community on account of scholarship and development, state secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party and senior Pahari leader, advocate Vibodh Gupta has alleged that 60 percent funds meant for Pahari community has been misused.

He has also questioned the functioning of J&K State Board for the Development of Pahari speaking people terming it as biased towards Kashmiris, Hindus and Sikh Paharies.

In a press statement issued here, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that 60 percent funds meant for Pahari community are being misused and there is large scale mismanagement in distribution of the scholarships to the Pahari students.

He said that Vice Chairman of the Board should immediately release white paper on the Pahari funds. He said that there are contradictions in the claims and practical work of Vice Chairman and he must give a white paper on the funds.

Saying that 50 percent students of Pahari community are not getting Pahari scholarship and there are large scale complaints of bunglings in the Pahari scholarship. He said that there is no monitoring and check on the scholarship and crores of rupees of government exchequer are not reaching the actual beneficiary.

Terming Pahari board as biased towards, Kashmiri, Hindu and Sikh Paharies, Gupta said that not even a single warden of either Hindu, Kashmiri or Sikh community has ever been deputed in the hostels. He said that this speaks about internal discrimination to some Pahari groups by the Board.

Gupta has also said that only 5 percent of students enrolled in Pahari Hostels belong to Hindu and Sikh community and these communities are being ignored on al fronts by the Pahari Board.
