Eid-ul-Azha arrangements finalized

JAMMU, OCTOBER 18- Arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha were finalized at an officers’ meeting held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Jammu, Mr. Sanjeev Verma here this afternoon.
Senior officers of Police, Health, Municipality, Traffic, PHE, PDD, R&B, Legal Metrology, CA&PD, Fire and Emergency Services, Auqaf and other allied departments, besides representatives of various social and religious organizations attended the meeting.
The DDC issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments for making adequate arrangements for the convenience of the people. He asked the PHE and PDD authorities to provide uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival days. The Municipality was asked to ensure cleanliness in around all the prominent mosques located in the Jammu city by deputing additional safai karamcharies. He asked the police department to make foolproof arrangements of security at all the vital places located in the city.
The R&B authorities were asked to repair all the damaged roads in Talab Khatikan and Eidgah areas so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience during Eid prayers. The traffic department was asked to ensure better traffic management to avoid traffic congestion at all important places. The CAPD and Legal Metrology Departments were directed to keep check on rates and quality of eatables, especially mutton and poultry in the market so that people do not suffer on these counts.
The officers assured the DDC that all the arrangements should be made well in time for the smooth conduct of the festival.
