| DDC Doda inaugurates two day district level fruit show | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, October 18 : :To boost Horticulture sector and provide a platform to the orchardists of the district to display their Horticulture produces, Horticulture Department Doda organized a two day district level fruit show at town hall Doda under Centrally sponsored scheme “Horticulture Mission for Northeast and Himalayan States” ( HMNH ).
District Development Commissioner Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion and inaugurated the fruit show.
While speaking on the occasion Chief Horticulture Officer Doda said that more than 200 participants participate in the show and displayed 433 exhibits/ produces.
CHO Doda apprised the gathering about the various state and centrally sponsored schemes . He said that subsidy , technical, technological and financial assistance is being provided to the aspiring farmers to build their orchards.
While speaking on the occasion DDC impressed upon the field functionaries of the Horticulture and other allied department to motivate farmers for plantation of fruit plants.
Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, scientists , and other resource persons also spoke on the occasion and interacted with the farmers/ orchardists and redressed their grievances/ problems being faced in the building orchards .
