| Kathua, Bhargava College in QFs of handball | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, Bhargava Degree College among five colleges today qualified for the third round of quarterfinals of men’s category in the ongoing inter-college handball tournament, organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu on the campus, here.
While GDC Kathua defeated GDC Samba 23-12, Bhargava College outplayed Trikuta Degree College 10-07 in low scoring game.
Other three scheduled matches ended in walkovers after the opponent teams failed to turn up. The teams getting walkovers were GDC Doda, Government MAM College and GGM Science College.
Walkovers in women’s section
Meanwhile, walkovers continued to haunt the women’s event with GCW Gandhi and GCW Parade as also Government Degree College Kathua making it to the third round without playing even a single game.
Today’s matches were officiated by Karun Mangotra, Kapil and Sonu.
