Play Way, KV-1 share titles in Kabaddi Gold Cup | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 18: Play Way School in boys and Kendriya Vidyalya No. 1 in girls sections emerged winners in the two-day Lala Hans Raj Kabaddi Gold Cup, organised by Jammu District Kabaddi Association at MA Stadium, here today. In the boys’ final, played today, Play Way School defeated Unique Public School 41-18 in a one-sided contest. In the semi-finals, Unique Public beat KV Bantalab School 52-44 in a well contested tie and Play Way School registered a four-point win over Bhartiya Shiksha School. Later, in girls’ title clash, KV-1 Gandhi Nagar trounced KV Bantalab 43-24 to lift the winners’ trophy. Earlier, in the semi-finals, KV-1 beat Stephen International School 43-29 while KV Bantalab outplayed Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra 38-17. Member Legislative Council (MLC), Syed Asgar Ali was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. He announced Rs 50,000 financial assistance for betterment of Green Field Ground. Former Minister, Harbans Singh and a host of other guests were present in the valedictory function. President of the Association, Anil Gupta announced Rs 5,100 for winners and runners-up teams.
