10+2 contractual Lecturers stages protest demonstration, | Demand Regularization, enhancement in salary | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 18:Showing deep resentment against the government for ignoring the aspirations of 10+2 contractual lecturers working in different plus 2 institutions across the J&K State, the lecturers under the banner of All J&K (10+2) Contractual Lecturers Forum staged a massive protest demonstration in front of Press Club here today.
Carrying placards, the protesters highlighting their demands and denounced the government for not taking their case of regularization seriously.
Addressing the protestors President of the forum said Bakshi said, we have been working as Lecturers in 10+2 institutions across Jammu and Kashmir State since 1998 and during the period of our services some of us have crossed the upper age limit required for the govt. services and some of us are on the verge of it.
Bakshi revealed that upto 2003 we have been appointed on academic arrangement basis vide different govt orders numbers 816 edu of 1998, 1345 of 1998 and 553 edu of 2000 by proper procedure, proper advertisement and selection made on merit basis.
After repeated requests neither our case has been referred to the empowered committee nor our salaries have been drawn as per Contractual rules vide govt. order no 1661 GAD of 2010. It is very unfortunate we people are getting salary less than our 4th class employees He added.
As all the Adhoc appointments have been converted into contractual vide Govt. order No 168 GAD of 2004, we have also been converted into contractual vide Govt. order no 1584 edu of 2003.
It is our request state govt that either 10+2 contractual lecturers may kindly be inducted in the new policy of regularization on the basis of merit of our cases or be given the benefit of regularization vide govt. order no 1301 of 2003 for the candidates appointed on academic arrangement basis as lecturers.
