| Drug peddler held, accomplice escapes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 18: While police today apprehended a drug peddler along with intoxicant parvanspas capsules and Codeine syrup bottles in Kathua, his accomplice managed to escape.
The accused were identified as Rohit Singh, son of Daljeet Singh of ward No 17, Mankay Talab, Kathua, and Nazir Ahmed alias Kaka, son of Babu Din of ward No 3, Kathua.
Police sources said cops intercepted a motorcycle (JK08A/8440) driven by Rohit Singh near Kathua during routine checking of vehicles. Nazir was sitting on the pillion seat. During their search, cops recovered 2,920 parvanspas capsules and 44 codeine syrup bottles from the possession of Rohit and 700 parvanspas capsules from the possession of Nazir. While Rohit was arrested, Nazir managed to escape, the sources added. Police had registered a case in this regard.
