| Kharote villagers hold protest against erratic water supply | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Oct 18:The people of Upper Mandi and Lower Kharote of village Kharote held a massive protest against the district administration to highlight shortage of drinking water supply.
The furious villagers of two areas of village Kahrote accused the PHE department for supplying the drinking water after 30 days gap due to which the people have to face the acute shortage of water and caused major sufferings for both people and their cattles also.
The protestors Yudhveer Singh, Tirath Singh, Joginder Singh, Minku Sharma, Sahib Singh, Rahul Singh, Abhishek Singh and etc said that people of the Lower Kahrote and Upper Mandi of the village have not been getting the drinking water for the last thirty days.
They said that the deputed PHE employees in Kahrote are not working properly and deliberately ignored the people of Lower Kahrote and upper Mandi. They said that even the DC Kathua has also directed PHE department several times to give the water supply properly in these two areas but the employees did not bother about the order and the water supply is not restored till date.
