Army donates sports items

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, Oct 19: Army unit located at Kalakote area of Rajouri took up a noble project under ‘Operation Sadhbhavana’ to provide sports items for students of Government High School, Potha. The aim of the project is to engage the youth in constructive physical activity by channelise their energy and exuberance in a positive direction through sports.
The items were donated on request of teaching staff of the school and local population of Potha. The project will provide entertainment of youth by engaging them in sports to motivate them to pick up sports as one of the possible professions.
A total of one Volley ball, one football, one complete set of cricket, 2 sets of badminton, 2 carrom and chess boards with complete set were donated to the school.
The students and teachers of the school were elated to be donated with sports items, they thought this initiative of Army will help them play and learn new games.
The teacher promised to make full use of these sports items by having a regular games periods’ in school to ensure personality development of the students of Govt High School Potha via sports.
Purshotam lal, headmaster of the Govt High School , Potha and the Sarpanch Vijay Kumar Sharma, Potha , Sarpanch Mohd Yaqoob, Godhar,Bansi Lal, Inspector Panchayat Deptt, Potha, highly appreciated the efforts of the Army for donating sports items to the school stating that, this will really benefit to the youth in improving their physical fitness and learning of team spirit which is very prominent in any sport.
