Dr Malik arrested by Jammu police in 2005 along with Jaish militant

SRINAGAR, Oct 19: National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing Delhi High Court blast said that accused Dr. Wasim Akram Malik has old connections with the militants.
The sources said that Dr Wasim Akram Malik was arrested from Narwal Jammu in the year 2005 along with Jaish Commander Mohammad Saleem alias Shamsher Kanna resident of Dherna Marwah in Kishtwar District.
The sources said that after his arrest, he managed to get his release from police custody, where as Shamsher Kanna remand in jail for more than 4 years before he was released on court order.
However the sources did not disclose that how Dr. Wasim Akram Malik managed his release despite the fact that he was arrested along with active militant.
It is believed that Dr. Wasim's release might have come in exchange of hefty amount. The sources said that NIA came to know about this development during the interrogation of Dr. Malik and after verifying the FIR report registered at Police Station Narwal, the claims was found true. The sources said that Shamsher Kanna during his questioning by NIA have also confirmed the arrest of Dr Wasim by Jammu police in the year 2005.
Meanwhile NIA along with Kishtwar police conducted the search of Kishtwar residence of Dr. Malik situated at Girinager Kishtwar. The sources said that the abandon house was used by the Bangladeshi militants for accommodation purpose as well as for storage of explosive during their stay at Kishtwar. The sources said that NIA has decided to send the 3 mobile belonging to Dr. Malik, Abid Hussain Bhawani and Amir Abbas Dev to forensic laboratory for examination and recovery of deleted data from the mobile chips.
The sources said that after finding transaction of huge amount from Bangladeshi account of Dr. Malik, NIA started legal initiative to freeze the Bangladeshi account of Dr. Malik. The sources said that even though the government of Bangladesh provides all possible help to investigating agency, All the 5 Bangladeshi involved in Delhi blast were still at large.
As already reported, during its 43 day long investigations by NIA, over all 11 people were found involved in hatching the conspiracy of the blast. As per the investigation, the terror attack was planned in Bangladesh on the direction of foreign militant organization. After hatching the conspiracy of the blast, the job of execution of blast was assigned to Dr. Malik, who travelled to Jammu from Dhaka on August 27 last and after celebrating Eid with his family members, he (Dr. Malik) travelled to Kishtwar on September 1 last along with two Bangladeshi. After reaching Kishtwar Dr. Malik established contact with his brother Junaid Akram Malik, who along with another militant commander Amir Kama alias Akram handed over the consignment of explosive to Dr. Malik and two Bangladeshis after getting nod from his supreme commander Jahangir Saroori. Dr. Wasim along with two Bangladeshi shifted the explosive first at his Girinager residence.
In the meantime, Dr. Malik held a meeting at rented house near Degree College Kishtwar on September 4 last which was attended by two Bangladeshis, Abid Hussain Bhawani, Amir Abbas Dev and Juniad Akram Malik (HM militant). It was during the course of this meeting, Dr. Malik and two Bangladeshi drafted the context of the email on paper and handed over it to Amir Abbas Dev. It was on morning on September 6 last; Dr. Malik along with two Bangladeshis moved to Jammu in a Tata Sumo from where Dr. Malik along with one Bangladeshi left for Delhi in late night hours and reached Delhi on the morning of September 7 last, where they meet with three Bangladeshis who were already waiting for them in Delhi and executed the blast. After execution of the blast, Dr. Wasim returned to Jammu and reached there on same day and joined his family members with the plea that he was busy in shopping whole day.
In the mean time when Dr. Malik was in Delhi, his mobile phone was in the custody of one of the two Bangladeshis who remained stationed in Jammu. After reaching back to Jammu, Dr. Malik spend some time with his family members and on September 9 last he went back to Dhaka via Delhi, before he was arrested by NIA on October 4 last and interrogated him and during his interrogation, Dr. Malik unveil the whole plan that how he successfully managed to execute the blast outside Delhi High Court in which 15 people were killed and as many as 80 others got injured.
