State Congress leader raises corruption issue before visiting delegation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 20: A senior state Congress leader Thursday raised issue of ‘rampant corruption’ and ‘embezzlements’ by ministers in Jammu and Kashmir with visiting Secretary of All India Congress Committee and MP Ram Chander Khuntia, sources told KNS. They said a senior leader of Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz lobby reported to the visiting Congress leader of loot, rampant corruption and embezzlements in multiples of 400 to 500 crores being committed by ministers including those of Congress under Omar Abdullah led coalition. Khuntia who was accompanied by Farooq Ahmad Wangnoo, vice president of J&K Trade Union Congress and Jan Mohammad Reshi senior Congress, sources told KNS promised state Congress leaders that he will take up the issue with high command in New Delhi. Khuntia who is also National Vice President of Indian National Trade Union Congress, INTUC was also briefed by state Congress leaders about the recent controversy of alleged custodial death of National Conference worker Syed Yosuf, sourced added. “The state leaders told the visiting delegation that high command pays no heeds to the interests of Congress workers in Kashmir. While presenting a clear picture of split in Pradesh Congress Committee, the delegation was informed by Soz loyalists that it was only Saif ud Din Soz who could save Kashmir by strengthening Congress in the State,” sources told KNS.
