| Is Mehbooba 'frustrated' if she asks for justice for people…? | | NC reacting harshly to PDP statements | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 20: Bickering between two political rivals ruling NC and opposition is once again at its high with both indulging in accusations to pull each other down. The strange and ironic aspect remains that PDP is only performorming the role of an opposition party in healthy spirit, while pointing out loopholes and darwbacks in NC led dispensation, the NC is getting provoked and irked to the extent that it terms uttering's and political bashing by Mehbooba Mufti as her 'frustration'. But one wonders in what sense and what is the criteria of NC leaders in judging what it likes to 'diagnose' how and why former is conducting in 'frustrated manner'.
It is no secret that NC right from day one has never taken the cricticism of opposition PDP in right perspective or in healthy spirit, not to speak of introspecting genuinely on the shortcomings and lacunae in governance highlighted by the PDP from time to time. In the aftermath of controversy of death in custody of prominent NC worker Haji Yousuf, things might have settled down for NC which at one point of time looked shaky and nervous of loosing the grip of power. But it will be folly on their part to think that opponents would relent on it or on a host of other issues so easily. PDP has already declared it will not remain silent on the issue of corruption and will take this fight to finish, while exposing corruption at political level as main agenda of this fight. One wonders is this declaration and commitment and conviction which PDP is showing, that has made ruling NC unnerved and react in a harsh manner as to call Mehbooba Mufti's utterings as out of frustration…!
PDP may at times can be seen indulging in exaggeration of the things , as NC feels and thinks. But it needs to remember one hard fact. While in opposition PDP has to do so and is rightful in doing so. And while running the show of government, it is the job of NC to take those things in spirited stride and prove PDP wrong by its deeds, instead of countering them in the same breath with equally poisonous verbatum and even using the expressions like frustration for whatever statements Mehbooba has been giving during the past few days. No one is going to take what NC says and feels about PDP, the leaders of the ruling party must remember. For she is only highlighting the hard realities and truth and echoeing the feelings on the ground level. NC must realise PDP is doing a sort of service while mirroring what people feel about it on various fronts. The way NC is leadership is reacting only amounts to denying the realities and looking at its own images on the mirror.
It is time for NC to introspect and put things in order on every front instead of rebuffing every things that PDP says. It must focus on setting own house in perfect order and discipline. It must focus on addressing the grievances of common masses disillusioned on almost every front. Whatever little faith , trust and credibility masses had in NC led governance despite 'bad governance……rampant corruption, sense of insecurity and fear, lack of development…… etc etc ' --, the phraseology used by the opposition has been eroded completely. IS PDP wrong if it is asking for a just system and justice for people who have given them votes …? It is the question NC must seek answer from itself. |
