CAPD books 50 defaulters, realizes Rs 22,600 fine | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, OCTOBER-21:-Continuing the drive during the festivals to ensure and implementation of Essential Commodities Act 1955 against overcharging and blackmarketing, a team of Enforcement Wing headed by Deputy Director Enforcement CA&PD, conducted market checking in October booked 50 defaulters including halwai shops, restaurants, karyana stores, milk and cheese sellers, fruit and vegetable sellers, mutton sellers and bakery items and realized fine of Rs. 22,600 under violation of Essential Commodities Act.
The enforcement squads of the department have started vigorous drive against the unscrupulous traders indulging in overcharging from the consumers during the coming festivals of Diwali and Eid.
All the Assistant Directors of Jammu province are also directed to conduct market checking against the defaulters.
