10/21/2011 8:57:20 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Oct 21: Terming Mughal road as economic booster as well as fatal for social and cultural life of Rajouri Poonch, State Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party and Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary segment polling booth incharge of the party, Vibodh Gupta has said that more than a dozen cases of drug supply have been reported on this road for the last 3 months which is cause of concern for the people of Rajouri and Poonch.

He demanded a check post to be installed at Peer Ki Gali exclusively for checking this illegal drug trade.

Issuing press statement here, Gupta said although Mughal road has opened portals for economic growth, the route is also turning fatal for the social and cultural life of the people of Rajouri and Poonch.

He said that the people of Rajouri Poonch cannot accept growth and development at the cost of social and cultural life. “We came to know that more than a dozen cases related to drugs supply have recorded for the last three months on Mughal road and suppliers from Kashmir are supplying drugs to this area in large quantity which must be checked at the initial stage”, Gupta said adding that few days ago a supplier from Kashmir had sent Charas sandwiched in Rishta (meat) to Rajouri which is astonishing that people are using such technique to supply drugs to Rajouri Poonch.

Demanding installation of a special check post exclusively for putting check on this drugs trade, Gupta said that if the check post is not opened the condition will be disastrous in near future when every young boy will be seen drug addicted. “This is serious matter and police must curb this evil before it flourish in this area”, Gupta said.

Gupta also demanded booking of drug supplier under Public Safety Act as these people are polluting the society and creating dent to it by supplying fatal drugs to the people.
