| NABARD organizes gender sensitization program | | |

National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with Jan Kalyan Lok Sewa Sansthan organized gender sensitization program at Chenani block, which was among others attended by District Development Manager NABARD, District Coordinator PNB, AGM J&K Bank, Project Manager DIC and officers from various line departments.
Explaining the importance of mainstreaming the rural women with institutional credit support from banking system, the District Development Manager NABARD emphasized that the rural women should have control over their savings and financial resources so that they may get economic independence over a period of time to remover gender discrimination and to ensure balanced development of all members of the society.
District Coordinator PNB felt the need to bring about economic upliftment of rural women by creating income generating opportunities through improved access to credit particularly in the non- farm sector while the Chairman of Chenani Municipality laid emphasis for economic development of rural women through provision of institutional credit support and other skilled oriented programs.
