| PG, GCW Parade bag handball titles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 21: The combined side of Post Graduate Departments and Government College for Women Parade today emerged new men and women’s champion respectively in the inter-college handball tournament held under the banner of Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
In the women’s final, GCW Parade defeated GCW Gandhi Nagar 12-02 in a one-sided contest. Vandana Rani contributed maximum seven goals to Parade College’s total.
Later, in men’s title clash, PG Departments defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua 36-18 to become the new champion. Amit and Taqdir Singh Charak were main contributors to the PG total.
Today’s finals were officiated by Karun Mangotra, Kapil Sagotra and Sonu Kumari.
Head of the Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, Prof Dalip Singh was chief guest, who witnessed the finals. He was accompanied by Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau and other officials of the department.
