NPSU holds demonstration against attack on scholar

JAMMU, Oct 21: National Panthers Students’ Union held a strong protest demonstration at University of Jammu outside the office of Dean Students Welfare against the attack by some miscreants on a scholar of the University last night. Protest was held under the leadership of NPSU president Thakur Virender Singh, here today.
Earlier, the students of various departments of University of Jammu and the activists of NPSU gathered outside the office of the DSW and started raising slogans against the JU authorities and were demanding strict action against the culprits who attacked one scholar last night at the hostel premises of JU. Speaking on the occasion, Virender Singh lambasted the University authorities for their total failure in the security of the students and scholars of the University.
He said that JU is paying huge amount to the police personals deployed in the University and bearing all the expenses of these cops but even then the security system of the University is totally failure.
Singh demanded a high level inquiry of the said incident and said that the culprits should immediate be put behind the bars so that no one can dare to attack any scholar or student of the JU.
He also said that the security personals who were deputed in the hostel premises at that time should also be penalised as they failed to deliver their duty and such a shameful incident took place in their presence.
Singh further said that the tenure of the Prof. Varun Sawhney as Vice Chancellor is coming to an end and demanded that the new Vice Chancellor should be local from Jammu. He said that the non local Vice Chancellor is the only reason for such type of mishaps.Others who were present on the occasion included Jaideep Singh Langeh,
Usman Ganai, Suryadev Singh, Nakul Uppal, Bhanu Partap Singh, Kashish Bhat, Papinder Singh, Mukesh Singh Bhau and Vicky Balloria beside others.
