| Hizbul militant apprehended | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR : Security forces have apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen militant during a cordon and search operation in a village of Pulwama district.
Abdul Gani Deedad alias Abu Salfi was apprehended last night from Aditrag village of Keller area in Pulwama, a police spokesman said today.
The spokesman said security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the village following a tip-off about the presence of the militant.
Deedad was active in the area since the last three months. He was involved in a number of extortion cases as well as in the killing of Irshad Ahmed Kohli last month, the spokesman said.
