Following ET report JKBOSE allowed CBSC students to sit in this year examination | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Asif Iqbal Naik Srinagar Oct 22:-A Central Board of School Education team that arrived here today from Delhi persuaded the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education to allow the 600 odd students to attend the class 11 exams. Earlier, BOSE had barred the students - mostly from Kendriya Vidyalaya and who follow the CBSE curriculum – citing certain technical reasons. BOSE follows NCERT syllabi. ``As a one time exception we are going to accommodate the students,’’ said Sheikh Bashir, chairman BOSE. The three member team headed by Vineet Joshi, CBSE chairman that met officials of BOSE and School Education Department, decided to suggest to the parents of these students that they should either switch to the NCERT curriculum after passing Class X examinations by joining a nearby winter zone school of CBSE or complete the two-year duration for Class XI and XII ``We are very grateful to the J and K board that they appreciated the issue. They are doing it for the first time,’’ said Vineet Joshi, CBSE chairman. Parents and students of the KV schools were perturbed with BOSE barring the students to sit in the exams that are slated for the November. ``we are happy now,’’ a parent said.
