| JKAACL paid rich tributes to Late Gayoor | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 22: At a function held at Sri Pratap College here on Saturday noted literary personalities from across the valley paid rich tributes to late Ghulam Rasool Anbrabi Gayoor.
Organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages the function was held to commemorate the 6th Death Anniversary of late Gayoor. Presided by noted writer and Former Director General Culture Mohammad Yousuf Taing the function had several noted personalities like V.C. Islamic University A.R.Trag, former Justice B.A.Kirmani, Secretary Academy Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and Noted Scholar Mohammad Ashfraf Andrabi in the presidium.
In his presidential address Taing praised the literary genius of late Gayoor and complimented the Cultural Academy for celebrating his death anniversary. Echoing Taing, V.C Islamic University Professor Trag said that the contribution of Late Gayoor to the literary tradition of Kashmir was immense and the late scholar would always be recalled for his literary services.
As part of the function poetry collection of Late Gayoor which has been compiled by his son Showkat Gayoor was also released. Dr Nazir Azad read a comprehensive paper on the poetry collection of late Gayoor. The programme proceedings were conducted by Dr. Azad while Showkat Andrabi presented the vote of thanks.
