| CAPD Inspects market, books 55 defaulters | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, OCTOBER 22- A team of Enforcement Wing headed by Deputy Director Enforcement/ R/F CA & PD Department and Assistant Director (E.W) today conducted market checking in various areas and booked 55 defaulters including halwai shops, hotels, milk and cheese sellers, fruit and vegetable sellers, mutton sellers and bakery items at Prade, Shahidi Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Ustad Mohalla, Janipur, Gandhi Nagar, B.C. Road, Kunjwani, Gangyal, and adjoining areas and realized fine of Rs. 38,500 under violation of Essential Commodities Act 1955, Price Display Order and LPG Control Order.
The Enforcement squads of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution are conducting vigorous drives against unscrupulous traders indulging in overcharging from the consumers.
All the Assistant Directors of Jammu Province have been directed to conduct market checking against the defaulters.
