State climbers win 4 medals in NZ meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 22: State climbing team, which participated in the North Zone Sport Climbing Championship under the banner of Mountaineering Association of Jammu and Kashmir, returned here with four medals, including two silvers. Princy Choudhary, a senior climber clinched a silver medal in girls’ Lead event and Bouldering competition. She also bagged a bronze medal in Speed climbing. A sub-junior climber, Ashish Kapoor had to contain with a bronze medal. Meanwhile, Bindia Sharma, a fourth position holder in sub-junior category and Princy Choudhary as also Ashish Kapoor have been selected to represent the zonal team in the National Sport Climbing competition to be held at Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi from November two. “Overall, it was a good performance by the state team with as many as nine climbers making it to the final round and won four medals. Shazia, Samina, Sumiya Kausar and Kajol Bharti also performed well but missed the medal,” general secretary of the Associaiton, Ram Khajuira told SAN.
