| 23rd Volleyball championship organized | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, October 22 : District Volleyball Association Kathua organized 23rd volleyball championship at Government High School Mela in Hiranagar Tehsil of District Kathua .
About fourteen teams are participating in the mega event. During the function, MLC Subash Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said the aim of conducting such tournaments is to develop the sporting spirit among the local as well as to inculcate a feeling of secular ethos and nationalistic. He urged the younger generation to participate in co-curricular activities besides academic education.
He said co-curricular activities are essential for making the students physically and mentally fit. He appealed the students to participate in sports activities in a big way besides pursuing academic education.
