CM’s immediate resignation demanded in BJP State Working Committee meet

Jammu, Oct 22: The 2-day BJP State Working Committee meet concluded on Saturday at Jammu with a demand for immediate resignation of State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The meeting was presided over by state president Shamsher Singh Manhas.
In its eight different sessions spread over two days, threadbare discussions were held over the present political situation in Jammu and Kashmir arising out of the mysterious death of National Conference worker and utterances of Chief Minister over the conviction of Afzal Guru.
It also held discussions over a political resolution moved by national executive member & chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh contaning party’s viewpoint on a number of issues confronting the state and its people
Over 130 delegates drawn from different parts of the state, including Kashmir, also suggested some amendments and additions in the political resolution.
One of such amendment moved by party’s chief whip Ashok Khajuria demanding immediate resignation of Omar Abdullah for his incompetence and alleged involvement in the death of National Conference activists Haji Yousuf Shah was adopted with unanimous voice vote.
Earlier, the district prabharis and presidents, presented detailed reports regarding the political and organizational activities being undertaken in their respective areas.
Referring to the forthcoming Jan Chetna Yatra of L.K. Advani as a very important event in view of the prevailing corruption in the state, it was impressed upon to reach the masses to make them aware of the issues of cash for vote, corruption, price-rise and black-money.
Besides state president Shamsher Singh Manhas and seh-prabhari sardar R.P.Singh Khalsa, BJP national executive member Nirmal Singh, chip whip & MLA Ashok Khajuria and party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma also expressed their views over a number of issues during different sessions of the meet.
