| Inter-college men’s hockey from Oct 31 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 23: Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu is going to organize inter-college men’s hockey tournament at K K Hakhu Stadium, here from October 31 to November four.
Both the finalists, winners, PG Arts and runners-up, Trikuta Degree College as also semi-finalist, Government SPMR College of Commerce given bye in the first round.
In all, 13 teams have submitted entries for this five-day annual event.
The competition shall be conducted accordance with the new rules of Association of Indian Universities and Indian Hockey Federation.
Women football tourney abandoned
Failing to raise teams despite confirming their entries for participation well in advance, the fate of the annual inter-college women’s football tournament hangs in balance.
As per the insiders, all the four institutions figured in the already laid down fixture have expressed their inability to field their teams.
The teams supposed to compete in the competition were Government College for Women Udhampur, GCW Parade, GCW Gandhi Nagar and PG Departments.
