| 12 die in road accident, 40 injured | | |

At least 12 people died while 38 others were injured ,eight critically, in a road accident on Thursday when a passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged into Chenab river in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police recovered 12 dead bodies from inside the wreckage of ill fated bus which was on its way from Kishtwar to Doda when it met with an accident near Prem Nagar in Doda district.
Eight critically injured were later airlifted to Jammu medical college while others were admitted in Doda government hospital for medical treatment.
According to reports, the ill fated bus bearing registration number JK 1Y 0253 met with an accident as bus skidded off the road due to bad road conditions in the mountainous district. |
