Rich tributes paid to ‘ Bhagwan Dhanwantri ’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, October 23 : Rich Tributes were paid to Bhagwan Dhanwantri, the God of Health and Longevity on the eve of Dhanwantri Jayanti being observed as Health Awareness week jointly by Vishaw Ayurved Parishad and Arogya Bharti Jammu. The inaugural function of the week was held at Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir Ambphal1a and presided over by Dr Subash Gupta President Arogya Bharati, Jammu. Swarni Hriday Giri of Hriday Giri Deep Ashram, Jeevan Nagar Jammu was the Chief Guest and Dr. Gautam Mengi, Principal Dental College, Sehora Jammu delivered the key-note address. The function started with the lighting of Dhanwantri Jyoti by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Dr. Arun Jandial while narrating the significance of the day recalled the medical ethics of those days when motivation of the doctor used to be relieving the suffering with a spirit of service and not material gains, fame etc. Dr. Govind Ram Gupta president Vishaw Ayurved Parishad in his address asked the Ayurvedic fraternity to follow the principles of Ayurved. He also made an appeal to the state government to take all the necessary steps to remove the growing impression that the government is ignoring Ayurved as shown by its indifferent attitude in not making the Pharmacy and Drug testing laboratory functional the buildings for which have been constructed long back.. Dr. Subash Gupta briefed the audience about the activities of Arogya Bharati which aims at Healthy individual, Healthy society and Healthy Nation. Dr. K.D. Gupta, Secretary Arogya Bharati called upon the Ayurvedic professionals to undertake health awareness programs in their respective areas as a part of this health awareness week for which they showed organize health check-up camps and promote sanitation drives for clean environment.
