| Lecturers hail introduction of subject on smoking menace | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 24:All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum has strongly supported the decision of Government for introducing special subject against smoking menace in the curriculum.
The Central Executive of the Forum which met at Jammu under the Chairmanship of H D Qureshi its State President has highly appreciated the decision of Minister for School Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for introducing special subject “Hazards of smoking and drug addiction” in the curriculum from Primary to Hr. Secondary level in the next Academic session.
The House congratulated the Minister for School Education for the bold decision and termed it as the outcome of his noble thoughts, visionary outlook and foresightedness towards the budding generation. The House expressed its satisfaction that through the inclusion of special subject in the contents of text books, the students will be educated and given awareness about the dangerous and damaging effects of smoking on the life of an individual.
H D Qureshi the State President of the Forum while speaking in the occasion welcomed the decision of Government and stressed upon the teaching fraternity in General and Plus 2 Cadre in particular to organize seminars all across the State to translate the noble ideas of Education Minister for awareness amongst the School Children against smoking.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Charan Dass and Manmeet Bali Vice President, N S Jamwal General Secretary, Ashwani Sharma Chief Organizer and B.D Sharma District President Jammu, OP Katoch State Coordinator besides many others.
