Free veterinary medical camp under Corporate Social Responsibility | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 24: A free veterinary medical camp (a treatment cum awareness camp for animal care) has been conducted by Sewa II Power Station, NHPC Ltd. at Hutt– the first of its kind in the area under Corporate Social Responsibility. Yoginder Kotha, Chief Engineer of Sewa II Power Station NHPC Ltd and Ram Das Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kathua, J & K graced the occasion and Kotha C.E. inaugurated the camp. Kotha, in his speech elaborated the welfare activities undertaken by NHPC Ltd under C.S.R. for the benefit local inhabitants. A team of veterinary doctors from Animal Husbandry department of J&K state of Bani and Bashauli examined and treated about 80 cases of various ailments of cattle, horses and sheep etc. Medicines were distributed absolutely free of cost. Cost of medicines was borne by NHPC Ltd. A good number of poor villagers having livestock from Bekan, Sarthali and Gatti areas were benefited by the Veterinary medical camp. The response from public was excellent as access to professional service had been very limited in the area particularly in the field of animal care. Pulak Taraphdar DCMO NHPC Ltd thanked Animal Husbandry Department of J & K State and villagers of Bekan, Sarthali area for their active participation in the camp and making it a great success.
