State BJP again suffers blow, more leaders quit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 24:In another jolt to the State Bharatiya Janta Party, senior vice president of the party Krishan Lal Gupta along with some other leaders quit the BJP today. Apart from Gupta, others who left the party include Yash Pal Gupta, CP Duggal and Joginder Sharma as they also announced their resignation in a press conference held here today. Vice President BJYM Jyoti Verma also resigned from the party. Addressing the media persons, Krishan Lal Gupta said that it is very painful to resign from the party after giving 35 years of life time for the party. It is very unfortunate that the state BJP is being run by such elements who only think of their personal interests. They have no time to think of the well being of society and state at large. Some office bearers and MLAs are spoiling the image of the party for their own petty gains, he alleged. They have conspired to malign the image of a senior party leader like Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, who has always spoken for the people of Jammu region. Because, of this we have decided to quit from the party with a heavy heart, Krishan Lal Gupta said. The condition of the state BJP has become like Congress and NC who have never given any notice to the demands and aspirations of Jammu people. Today, the state unit of BJP is hand in glove with the government, he alleged. Some leaders of state BJP, after wearing turban like Pt Prem Nath Dogra, are projecting them selves like the great leader, however, fake has a very small shelf life, he said.
