| Ayurvedic college in Jammu, Unani College in Srinagar soon: Chib | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, OCTOBER 24- “One Ayurvedic College in Jammu while one Unani College in Srinagar would be established soon in the state, this was disclosed by Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib, who was the chief guest in a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Chapter of All India Ayurvedic Congress to celebrate “Dhanwanrti Jayanti”.
Mr. R. S. Chib while speaking on the occasion paid rich tributes to progenitor of Ayurveda-Dhanwantri. He impressed upon Ayurvedic professionals to dedicate their system for treatment of ailing masses. He further said that Government is keen to undertake all steps which are necessary for strengthening traditional system in the State. He said that there is a separate department namely AYUSH, setup by the Government of India, to promote ayurvedic science.
Mr. Chib described lord Dhanvantari as symbol of self less service to humanity with the knowledge of ayurveda which come into existence after churning of ocean of wisdom prevailing thousands of years ago in India. He said ayurvedic system of medicines is gaining global popularity for its non toxic effects and meticulous curing results.
The function was attended by large number of Ayurvedic professionals, prominent citizens and a large number of Ayurvedic students.
Dr. Satya Gupta, President of state Unit presented achievements registered by the unit so far.
The students from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan presented Dhanwantri Vandana.
Dr. H. N. Patwari presented detailed inputs about life and contribution of Dhanwantri for ailing masses.
Dr. Roop Lal Sharma, spoke about various measures being undertaken by Central Council of Indian Medicine to promote this vital sector.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ashok Gupta.
