| Mangat visits bus accident site, takes stock of rescue operation | | | JAMMU JAN 4 On hearing the news of a tragic bus accident at Prem Nagar on Doda-Kishtwar road today, Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma accompanied by MLA Inderwal, Mr. G.M.Saroori, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Pramod Jain and Inspector General of Police, Jammu Dr. S.P.Vaid flew to the spot to take stock of the situation and supervise the arrangements for evacuating the dead bodies and shifting injured to various hospitals. The ill-fated SRTC bus which skidded of the road killing 12 persons on the spot and injuring 42 reportedly the injured met the accident at Prem Nagar have been admitted in Doda hospital and 8 seriously injured shifted to Government Medical College, Jammu for specialized treatment. Of the 34 admitted in Doda hospital, 24 have been discharged after first aid. In a condolence message conveyed to the bereaved families, Mr. Sharma expressed great shock over the loss of precious lives and said that the Government would provide every possible help to the victims’ families and specialized treatment to the injured. Mr. Sharma alongwith Minister of State for Health, Peer Mohammad Hussain MLA Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori, MLA Mr. Abdul Majid Wani and other senior officers also visited GMC Jammu to enquire the welfare of injured admitted in the hospital and directed health authorities to provide best possible medicare facilities to the injured for their early recovery. |
