DVM meets to chalk out strategy for Accession Day arrangements

Jammu, Oct 24: Duggar Vikas Manch, a joint forum of prominent NGO’s, social, non political & business organisations, today held a press conference at Dogra Sadar Sabha, Dogra Hall Jammu to chalk out strategy for arrangements of Accession Day .
Speaking on the occasion, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal convener Duggar Vikas Manch briefed the media persons the details of the program to be held at Jammu.
He informed that the main function of Accession Day shall be organised in Jammu, in which a procession of students of various Institutions & schools, representative heads of various prominent organisations & market associations and prominent citizens shall participate.
This procession shall be organised on the eve of Accession Day i.e. on 25th October 2011, which shall start from Mubarakh Mandi Complex Jammu and after passing through Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Old Hospital Road, City Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, Vir Marg, Residency Road, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Shalimar Road, Parade Ground Road, Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Dhountly Bazar, Panjtirthi shall culminate again at Mubarakh Mandi Complex.
He further told that the Flag Hoisting ceremony shall be organised on 26th of October at the Mubarakh Mandi Complex Jammu, the most important symbol of Dogra Empire and the symbol of Dogra Rule before 26th October 1947, the day J&K state acceded with the Union of India & the day Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession with the dominion of India which was accepted by lord Louis Mountbatten, the Governor General of India.
He informed that the on 26th October, which is the Accession Day of J&K State, when the Instrument of Accession of J&K State was signed by Maharaja Hari Singh, a 650 Kilo Laddoo shall be made which shall be distributed amongst the people on the doubly happy occasion of Diwali & Accession Day of J&K state with the Union of India.
