Death of NC worker Haji Yousaf: Omar in trouble again ? | Fighting for dignity of deceased father, son moves to court for CBI inquiry | | Asif Iqbal Naik SRINAGAR, Oct 25: Fresh trouble has erupted for Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Omar Abdullah, as the family members of deceased National Conference worker Hajji Mohammad Yousaf have decided to move court to seek CBI enquiry into the incident. The family has alleged that the step has been necessitated as they feel biased attitude of state government, particularly from the first family of the state in getting truth to the fore. The family members today alleged they have lost faith over the present regime led by none other than Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who according to them is accused in the mysterious death of Hajji Mohammad Yousaf. The family members of the deceased has approached the special anti-corruption court to seek justice as they want the Honorable court to direct the CBI to probe the Syed Yousaf's case. According to Syed Talib Hussain son of late Hajji Mohammad Yousaf, despite the lapse of nearly one, no judicial probe has been initiated by the Omar Abdullah government into the death of his father even though he (Syed Talib) feels that there is little possibility that truth will come out of the judicial probe till Omar Abdullah is at the helm of the affairs. He said that his family was fighting for the dignity of his late father against whom Omar Government has registered an FIR No: 17 U/S 420 in crime branch Srinagar. He said that the said FIR was register on 3-10-2011, four days after the death of his father. He said that instead of his father the FIR should be registered against Omar and his men including his father Dr. Farooq Abdullah. He said that even through after the statement of the key eye witness Abdul Salam Reshi who also was brought to Crime Branch Srinagar in the said vehicle narrated an important facts about his father's condition, which according to Rishi was critical when he came out of the house of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He said that as per Salam Rishi statement, his father was taken out from the CM residence at around 6:13 pm on 29 September 2011 in most critical condition and alleged that CM would have hushed up the matter by throwing the body on the roadside but the important witnesses whose number is more than the accused suggest nothing but a conspiracy hatched to do away with the life of his father. He said that after his after his father threaten them that he would make revelations which would create havoc in political circles and would expose the corrupt practices of the first family. He said that as per the statement of Salam Rishi, the death of his father is a gruesome murder done on behalf of the Omar and his men. He said that until and unless Omar Abdullah is on chair, his family has no hope for justice. He said that despite repeated appeals and request made to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, PM Manmohan Singh, Congress Secretary Rahul Gandhi and others, no one has come forward with words of consolation and reconcile nor assured that justice will be delivered to their wailing family. He said it is the feeling of dejection and loss of hope from Omar Abdullah government, they have left with no other option except to move court and filed a complaint seeking court intervention. In his complaint Syed Talib Hussain (Son of deceased Mohammad Yousaf) before the special judge anticorruption seeking direction to registered case against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his father and National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, MOS Home Nasir Aslam Wani, IG Crime Raja Ajaiz Ali, SSP Crime Srinagar Abdul Gaffar Malik, Ex. PSO to Chief Minister Shabir Ahmed, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nasir Khan and ASI SP Singh. In the complaint, it was prayed that the direction may be given to Director CBI, DIG CBI and SP CBI to register a criminal case against all the accused who were involved in the offence for receiving of cash for MLC and ministerial berths and killing of his father so that justice could be done, the complaints reads. The complainant in his complaint further stated that his father Hajji Yousaf was taken into custody on the orders of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, respondent No: 1, who ordered the respondent No:2 Nasir Aslam Wani to take the father of complainant to a separate room where all the other respondent were present. While giving the reference of CCTV footage shown on various TV channels, the complainant said that the CCTV footage shown on various channels depicted nothing but a hale and hearty Hajji Syed Muhammad Yousuf entering the residence of respondent no. 1 and after leaving the residence he was shown broken, unable to walk and virtually supported by three security men to support him in walking and his shirt was out of his pants while the footage of entrance shows his shirt in the pants with belts of the complainant. The complainant in his complaint has alleged that his father was mercilessly beaten to pulp especially in the abdomen as he had complained about abdominal pain which showed that he was given kicks and blows and he had vomited blood in the vehicle in which he was finally thrown and taken to Crime Branch headquarters Srinagar. The complainant alleged that instead of taking his father to hospital, he (Haji Mohammad Yousuf) was taken to Crime Branch office Srinagar and allegedly taken to PCR Srinagar and hospitalized. The complaint stated that, the testimony given by Abdul Salam Reshi, eye witness of the case in his interview on various TV channels especially "Times Now", reveals that he vomited blood which was taken by the driver of the vehicle in some bucket/cane in the vehicle in which he was taken to Crime Branch Srinagar. It is worthwhile to mention that 61-year-old Hajji Mohammad Yousuf died in mysterious circumstances after being handed over to Crime Branch of the state police at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's official residence on September 29 following a complaint by two NC activists, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat of Ganderbal and Abdul Salam Reshi of Kokernag, that he (Haji Mohammad Yousuf) had taken Rs 1.18 crore from them for ensuring a ministerial berth and a berth in the Legislative Council for them. |
